"Bandi Chhor Divas Petition"
The "Bandi Chhor Divas Petition" is the successor to the 100,000 petition which was very successfully debated in Parliament on 28th March 2013. This petition requests Parliament to proactively address the issue of the globally
growing threat against humanity through the setting of a precedent, to only trade with nation states that have signed and
ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and the UN
Charter against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhumane or Degrading Treatment or
Punishment, and that, trade between the United Kingdom and other nation states is to be contingent to the trading partner nations Human Right's
results as shown in the United Nation's most recent Universal Periodic Review.
The Bandi Chhor Divas Petition also requests that the United Kingdom encourage non-complying nation states to take remedial measures that are pursuant to, and comply with, the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights and seeks the impending implementation of the release of those that still are in detention and incarceration, prisoners of conscience, political prisoners and also, individuals who are being held without undergoing a fair and just trial in other nation states.
